Shree Venkatesh Films launched the first look poster of detective thriller Byomkesh Gowtro today. It shows Abir Chatterjee in a new avatar. As opposed to the regular dhoti kurta, he is seen in a two-piece suit. We cannot wait to watch what other changes this film will offer us. Chatterjee has reprising the role of Satyanweshi Byomkesh Bakshi, following a two year hiatus. Rahul Banerjee has replaced Ritwick Chakraborty as Ajit, the famous writer and partner to Satyanweshi. Sohini Sarkar will be seen donning the hat of Satyabati, Satyanweshi’s wife. Arjun Chakraborty plays Satyakam, a wealthy Casanova, who is an integral character in the film.

In the film, 21-year-old Satyakam, the son of a business tycoon from Mussourie, comes to Kolkata and tells Byomkesh that his life is under threat. He urges Byomkesh to go to Landour, Mussourie for investigation. When he reaches there, he finds Satyakam murdered. What follows next forms the crux of the story.

Anjan Dutt, Priyanka Sarkar, Sourosheni Maitra, Baishakhi Marjit, Harsh Chhaya, Saurasheni Maitra, Suprabhat Das, Indrashish Ray, Anindita Bose, Joydip Kundu and Bibriti Chatterjee form a part of the ensemble cast. The music for the film is composed by Bickram Ghosh. Byomkesh Gowtro is based on Rakter Daag by popular Bengali author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay. Directed by Arindam Sil, who also essays a pivotal role, the film is slated for a Durga pujo release on October 12, 2018. Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni will produce the film.
