Bengali cinema has never experimented with the iconic leader Subhas Chandra Bose and to fill in that void Srijit Mukherji has announced his next film on Netaji. It has already grabbed headlines with an overwhelming response on social media. Produced by SVF, it will largely focus on Bose’s sudden disappearance and will try to delve deep into the mystery surrounding ‘Gumnami Baba’ who has often been rumored to be Netaji himself.

While Prosenjit Chatterjee is set to play the titular role, Srijit has already started working on the script. Recently, he took to his Twitter handle share the exciting news with his fans. The renowned director posted a picture of a set of books related to the mystery behind Netaji’s disappearance and captioned it: “No other announcement till date has elicited such an unbelievable response. People have offered to help with their personal research, links to existing research, books, articles & even school assignments. Just goes to what the Man means to the entire nation, even till today.”
