My new Byomkesh film has the most phenomenal cast: Arindam Sil
On Sunday, the teaser for Arindam Sil’s Byomkesh Hotyamancha, which is based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s incomplete story, got released. Abir Chatterjee is pulling off the quick-witted Byomkesh Bakshi yet again, and Sohini Sarkar is returning as the quintessential Satyabati, the significant other of the sleuth-hound.
The film narrates the 1971’s Naxalite insurgency when Byomkesh decides to attend a play at the theatre and becomes witness to a crime unfolding on the centre stage. Along with Abir Chatterjee and Sohini Sarkar, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will be seen portraying the character of Byomkesh’s iconic confidant and writer Ajit. Paoli Dam will be seen in an integral role along with Kinjal, Arna Mukhopadhyay. The music for the film will be scored by Bickram Ghosh.
Director Arindam Sil, positive about the casting of the film, says, “Byomkesh Hotyamancha has the most phenomenal cast that any Byomkesh film has ever witnessed. With my new Byomkesh film, I am looking forward to showcasing both political and cultural commentary on the Bengal of 1971. This will be the most intriguing film in the entire Byomkesh series.”
Abir, on his part, said, “I am getting a good response from the audience. Hope they like the film too.”
