Dhrubo all set to direct a music video on Mahalaya
After Durgeshgorer Guptodhon, Dhrubo Banerjee will be directing his first music video, Ekai Eksho, on Saturday. The video will feature five prominent faces of Tollywood — Paayel Sarkar, Darshana Banik, Anindita Bose, Tuhina Das and Oindrila, who will depict five independent modern women.
The shoot, which will be for a song crooned by Sona Mohapatra, scored by Gaurav Chatterji and penned by Ritam Sen, will be held at Lahabari on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya. This song essentially celebrates the free spirit of womanhood.
“The music video is about the story of five friends, among whom one is getting married. It basically shows how women today are balancing home and work with ease and élan. A woman is ekai eksho — that is the basic theme of the video. A woman celebrates her womanhood in her own way and in her own style. The whole video will have a festive flavour, where we will get to know the professional and personal lives of these five girls,” Dhrubo told us.
Dhrubo, who always works with DoP Soumik Haldar, will be working without him for the first time because the cinematographer is busy shooting for Raj Chakrabaraty’s film in Purulia. “Soumik and I have been friends for the past 14 years. On the sets, we exactly know what we need from each other. I like his temperament too. With him around, I don’t need to think much, which makes my work easy,” said Dhrubo.
Dhrubo’s first directorial venture was Guptodhoner Sandhane, where Abir Chatterjee played Sonada. His next film was Durgeshgorer Guptodhon. We have also heard that the young director is planning a thriller early next year with Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty in the lead.
