Actor Dev Adhikari shared the second official poster for Golondaaj, the upcoming biopic of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, the father of Indian football, on his 152^nd birth anniversary on Friday.

Directed by Dhrubo Banerjee, the period film is slated for a theatrical release on 10 October.

The poster features Adhikari as Sarbadhikari leading his football team from the front, determination writ large in his eyes. The image of broken shackles on the poster suggests the pioneering sportsman also turned football into a tool of resistance against the British colonizers.

A teaser for the film, released on 15 April, offered glimpses of Adhikari’s larger-than-life look in the film and the recreation of late 19th century Bengal with rich production design.

Golondaaj also features Anirban Bhattacharya, Ishaa Saha, Indrasish Roy, Srikanto Acharya and American actor Alexx O’Nell as the antagonist Major Frederick Jackson.
