‘Bidaay Byomkesh’ BTS video: Here’s how Abir Chatterjee transformed into an octogenarian

Debaloy Bhattacharya’s directorial debut ‘Bidaay Byomkesh’ is releasing on July 20, where we would get to see an octogenarian Byomkesh on a mission to save his son and solve a murder mystery. Abir Chatterjee is all set for a double role – an aged Byomkesh and his grandson Satyaki. But transforming him into an 80-year-old wasn’t that easy. It took the makeup artists three to four years to make the dashing actor look like his aged part using prosthetic.

Check out this video to know how Abir became an octogenarian Byomkesh.

The film focuses on the iconic detective’s personal journey through his many investigations over the years. The character of Satyaki has been originally introduced by the director himself and doesn’t take any reference from Saradindu Bandyopadhyay’s works. Whether the Byomkesh saga comes to an abrupt end or Satyaki embarks on a new journey carrying forward his famous grandfather’s legacy, remains at the crux of the mystery.

Apart from Abir in the titular role, the Byomkesh spin-off also stars Sohini Sarkar, Joy Sengupta</a>, Bidipta Chakraborty, Rahul Banerjee, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee and Arindam Sil in pivotal roles.
