Anirban Bhattacharya is tensed about his next ‘Ghawre Bairey Aaj’

Anirban Bhattacharya, whose latest release ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ is enjoying a stupendous success at the Box Office, plays a pivotal role in Aparna Sen’s ‘Ghawre Bairey Aaj’. While Anirban will be seen as Nikhilesh, Jisshu Sengupta will essay the character of Sandip. In 1984 these two roles were supremely enacted by Victor Banerjee and Soumitra Chatterjee respectively in Satyajit Ray’s screen adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Ghawre Bairey’.

“Aparna Sen’s Arshinagar turned out to be a significant break for me even though it was a supporting role. This time, I play one of the lead roles in her film. Here I am Nikhilesh and the role is definitely challenging. I know I have some limitations and my main concern now is how I can overcome those. This role is not an easy one and I have to improve a lot,” says Anirban who plays the key character of Satya Banerjee in ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’.

The versatile actor is awaiting another release in December which is again directed by Srijit Mukherji. Titled as ‘Shah Jahan Regency’, it’s a modern day take on Shankar’s all-time great novel ‘Chowringhee’.
